Serving the Aging Population

Veterans Needs
Most people think of veterans benefits being only for service men and women who were wounded or disabled while serving in the armed forces. In fact, the Aid and Attendance benefit is available to wartime veterans and their spouses who are now seniors and facing long-term care costs such as home care, assisted living facility fees and nursing home expenses. Please call for your free initial consultation to discuss these veterans benefits.

Elder Law-It’s More Than Just Estate Planning
Even though we may complete a comprehensive estate plan for you or your loved ones with living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, health care powers of attorney, living wills, HIPAA waivers and so forth; Elder Law encompasses matters that are beyond the scope of such a plan. It then becomes necessary to introduce “Medicaid matters” into the conversation. Most new clients come to us with things that “they have heard” from friends and family. Such as,. . .

   Medicaid Myths

In the elder law practice, I focus on the legal needs of the elderly, and work with a variety of legal tools and techniques to meet the goals and objectives of my older clients. As an elder law practitioner I handle general estate planning issues (wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills and the like) and I counsel clients about planning for incapacity with an array of necessary documents. In that same elder law area I also assist my clients in planning for possible long-term care needs, including nursing home care and Medicaid issues. Identifying the appropriate type of care, coordinating private and public resources to finance the cost of care, and working to ensure the client's right to quality care are all part of my elder law practice.
